The Outlaw (1943)

Director: Howard Hughes, Howard Hawks (uncredited)
Actors: Jane Russell, Jack Buetel, Thomas Mitchell, and Walter Huston
Runtime: 87 min.

The Outlaw is Howard Hughes' fabled film about Billy the Kid (Jake Buetel) and Doc Holliday (Walter Huston), their competition for the love of a woman named Rio (Jane Russell), and the pursuit of Billy by the law man Pat Garrett.

Trivia: The film was considered scandalous for its time, as Howard Hughes designed a special cantilevered bra for Jane Russell to wear so that her bosom would appear more bountiful. The focus on the romantic aspect of the movie, Jane Russell's bust, and its prominent display on the film posters resulted in the film being banned by censors when it was first completed in 1941. It later saw a limited release in 1943 after some of the offending footage was edited out. Russell went on to become a Hollywood star and was featured in films such as Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (with Marilyn Monroe). The making of the film was also featured in a sequence in the film, The Aviator.
