Tate

Tate

Tate is a gunman and bounty hunter in the Old West. Known for his skill with a gun, potential employers could reach him through a P.O. box in Kansas City. As the result of a Civil War injury Tate lost the use of one arm which he always carried in a leather sling. Nonetheless, he was so fast on the draw that men would seek him out to challenge him often to their regret. The show aired from June 8 - September 14, 1960 and a total of only 13 episodes were filmed. Tate leading man David McLean is best known for his TV commercial role as The Marlboro Man. The show also had a number of famous actors as guest stars. These included Robert Redford, Martin Landau, Leonard Nimoy and Warren Oates. Two episodes were directed by female film pioneer Ida Lupino.
