During his early film career he was known as "King of the Bs" due to his frequent leading roles in B-movies. Joanne Dru is remembered for her appearances in the classic Western movies She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, Wagon Master and Red River. Peter Ireland (Willie Stiver) is John Ireland's son.
