Gregory Peck stars as Captain Richard Lance, a straight-laced career officer who is mistakenly held responsible for sending a Lieutenant to his death. He must defend a mountain fort against Indian attack with the help of a resentful group of troublemakers and misfits scavenged from a nearby cavalry outpost.
Trivia: Co-written by two Academy Award winning screenwriters, Edmund North and Harry Brown, and based on a book by Charles Marquis Warren (creator of the Rawhide TV series). Ward Bond went on to star in the TV Series Wagon Train.
