Tom Andrews (Randolph Scott) is a surveyor for the Canadian Pacific Railroad who must match wits with fur trapper Dirk Rourke (Victor Jory) who sees the railroad as a threat to his way of life.
Trivia: Actress Jane Wyatt (Edith Cabot) won three Emmy awards for her portrayal of Margaret Anderson in the 1950s TV series, Father Knows Best. J. Carroll Naish (Dynamite Dawson) received two best Supporting Actor Academy Award nominations, but never won. Composer Dmitri Tiomkin was nominated for 22 Academy Awards, winning four times, including a Best Music Oscar for 1952's High Noon.
