Trivia: John Wayne won the Best Actor Academy Award for his role as Rooster Cogburn, his only Oscar. This movie marked the acting debut of Glen Campbell (La Boeuf). He was a very successful recording star in the 1970s with songs like Rhinestone Cowboy and By the Time I Get to Phoenix. He won a total of ten Grammy Awards during his career and he received a a Golden Globe nomination for Most Promising Newcomer - Male for his role in this movie. True Grit was remade in 2010, starring Jeff Bridges.
