Sam Cooper (Van Heflin) is an old-timer who finally strikes pay dirt at his gold mine in the Nevada desert. After being betrayed by his former partner, Cooper heads back to civilization where he picks up three new partners, none of whom trust any of the others. A very solid spaghetti western.

Trivia: Van Heflin won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role in the film Johnny Eager (1942). Klaus Kinski was the father of actress Natasha Kinski.
