A greedy timber baron (Kirk Douglas) wants to log the giant sequoias in northern California. He plans to cheat the Quaker colony who lives on the land, but things begin to change when a new rival comes to town.

Trivia: Kirk Douglas was a three time Academy Award nominee for Best Actor. He's the father of actor Michael Douglas. Alan Hale Jr. (Tiny) is best known for his role as the Skipper in the hit TV show Gilligan's Island. Screenwriter James R. Webb won the Academy Award for Best Screenplay for the movie How the West Was Won (1962).
