A group of Civil War vets in search of buried diamonds team up with a wandering waif woman (Sondra Locke) whom they find along the trail. Mysterious events plague the party during their journey. A rare combination of the Western and Horror genres.

Trivia: The movie is also known as Shadow of Shakira. Sondra Locke (Drucilla) was the long time companion of actor Clint Eastwood and she co-starred in six films with him, including The Outlaw Josie Wales. Joe Don Baker (Wishbone Cutter) appeared in three James Bond films: The Living Daylights, GoldenEye and Tomorrow Never Dies.
